The Madison Capitols, proud members of the United States Hockey League, have announced the hiring of new assistant coach, Will Craig. Craig comes in as the sole assistant working along with head coach Garrett Suter.

Craig hails from Virginia Beach, Virginia before moving to Ohio to attend Bowling Green University where he double majored in Education and Human Development, as well as Sports Management in only three years. Craig’s fascination with the sport led him to being a student manager for Bowling Green baseball and hockey for his college entirety.

Following graduation, Craig has worked constantly in the sports world as a video coach with the Green Bay Gamblers, Manitoba Moose, and most recently the Greenville Swamp Rabbits.

Craig brings a lot of experience to the Capitols team in his short tenure and should add another dimension that can help the Caps improve their record for the upcoming season.

“We’re really excited to have Will join our team,” says head coach Garrett Suter. “Will is going to help us take our talent to the next level.”

The 2018-19 season will be the Madison Capitols 5th year in the USHL. The season begins with the USHL Fall Classic from September 27-30 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Madison will unveil the summer renovations at their home opener on Friday, October 12th at Bob Suter’s Capitol Ice Arena.
