The Madison Capitols (16-15-2) are set for meetings five and six between Team USA (8-15-3) as they bus out to Plymouth, Michigan this weekend for a two-game road series. The Capitols currently own a 3-1 lead in the season series with USA. Their lone loss came in a slugfest with the U18s back on December 4th when the Capitols fell 7-5. Madison will have a shot at both the U17s and U18s this weekend as they draw the former on Friday night and the 18s on Saturday.
In three games against the U17s, the Capitols have the advantage over them by a combined score of 20-8. This will be the Caps and U17s first meeting since December 3rd when the Caps knocked them off 6-3 at Bob Suter's Capitol Ice Arena.
When it comes to scoring, the Capitols are led by Cornell commit Nick DeSantis (11G, 19A) and Minnesota blueliner commit, Luke Mittelstadt (11G, 18A). Mittelstadt currently ranks 4th in points and 2nd in goals among USHL defensemen.
